The first line of defence
The first line of defence is:
- innate: not learned and non-adaptive which means it cannot adjust
- non-specific: a response to a pathogen regardless of its type
The main focus of first line of defence is to basically keep pathogens (disease-causing organisms) out using physical and chemical barriers to prevent the initial entry of them.
